How to Use the Ultrawide Wallpaper Stretch Fix Open Tool →
Fix stretched, squashed, or distorted wallpapers on your ultrawide monitor in one click. No signup, no watermarks, 100% free.
What This Tool Does
Most wallpapers online are made for standard 16:9 screens. When you set them on a 21:9 or 32:9 ultrawide monitor, your OS stretches them horizontally to fill the screen. Faces become oval, buildings warp, and circles turn into eggs. This tool fixes that.
Quick Start (3 Steps)
- Upload your wallpaper — Drag and drop, click to browse, or paste a direct image URL. We accept JPG, PNG, and WebP up to 50 MB.
- Pick a fix method — The tool auto-detects your image's aspect ratio and recommends the best approach. Choose from Mirror Extend, Blur Background, Solid/Gradient Fill, or Smart Crop.
- Fix & Download — Hit the purple button and save your wallpaper in PNG, JPG, or WebP format.
Upload Options
Load images from your device or paste any direct image URL (HTTPS recommended). If a remote image is blocked by CORS, you can still preview it, but exporting may require downloading the file locally first.
Target Resolution
Select the native resolution of your ultrawide monitor. Not sure? Click Detect My Monitor — we read your screen's pixel dimensions and pick the closest match automatically.
- 2560×1080 — Entry-level 21:9 (budget ultrawides)
- 3440×1440 — Standard 21:9 (most popular ultrawide resolution)
- 3840×1080 — Dual 1080p 32:9 (super-wide productivity panels)
- 5120×1440 — Dual 1440p 32:9 (Samsung Odyssey G9, etc.)
- 5120×2160 — Premium 21:9 (5K ultrawide)
- 7680×2160 — Dual 4K 32:9 (flagship super-ultrawide)
Fix Methods Explained
- Mirror Extend
- The default and best choice for most images. Reflects the left and right edges of your photo to seamlessly fill the full ultrawide canvas. Perfect for landscapes, cityscapes, abstract art, and symmetrical compositions. No distortion, no stretching.
- Blur Background
- Keeps the central subject perfectly sharp while the sides are filled with a blurred version of the image. Ideal for portraits, product shots, and any photo with a clear focal point. Use the Blur Intensity slider (4–60 px) to control how soft the background appears.
- Solid / Gradient Fill
- Fills the empty space with a flat color or a smooth two-color gradient. Great for minimalist wallpapers, brand backgrounds, or when you want the subject to pop against a clean backdrop. Choose horizontal or vertical gradient direction, pick from built-in palettes, or define custom hex colors.
- Smart Crop
- Crops the image to the exact target aspect ratio without stretching. Use the Crop Position slider to shift the crop area left, right, up, or down. Best for images where losing some edges is acceptable and you want zero distortion.
Before / After Toggle
Use the toggle switch in the top toolbar to instantly compare the original stretched image with the fixed result. This helps you decide which fix method works best before downloading.
Full-Screen Preview
Click the fullscreen button to see your wallpaper at scale on your entire screen. The overlay shows the current target resolution and whether you're viewing the Before or After state.
Export Formats
- PNG — Lossless quality. Best for graphics, text, and images with sharp edges. Largest file size.
- JPG — Compressed format. Ideal for photographs. Smaller file size with minimal visible loss.
- WebP — Modern format. Excellent compression with near-lossless quality. Recommended for web use and disk space savings.
All exports are rendered at the exact target resolution you selected — no upscaling artifacts, no quality degradation.
Image Analysis
After uploading, the tool displays three info cards:
- Original Size — The pixel dimensions of your source image.
- Aspect Ratio — Detected automatically (16:9, 21:9, 32:9, 4:3, 1:1, or custom).
- Detected Type — What kind of image the tool thinks you uploaded.
If the tool detects a non-ultrawide image (like 16:9 or 4:3), it will auto-select Mirror Extend as the recommended fix method.

Tips for Best Results
- Use high-resolution source images (at least 2× your target resolution) to avoid pixelation in the final wallpaper.
- Mirror Extend works best on images with soft edges, natural scenery, or abstract patterns.
- For portraits and product shots, Blur Background with 12–24 px intensity gives a professional look.
- Smart Crop is perfect when your subject is centered and you don't mind trimming the edges.
- If a remote image fails to export due to CORS, download it to your computer first, then re-upload.
- All processing happens locally in your browser. Your images are never uploaded to any server.
Troubleshooting
- "Export failed" error
- Remote images blocked by CORS cannot be exported directly. Save the image to your device and upload it locally.
- White lines at mirror seams
- Extremely rare with our integer-coordinate rendering. If you see a seam, try the Blur Background method instead.
- Image looks blurry after fix
- Your source image may be too small for the target resolution. Use a higher-resolution original (ideally 4K or larger).
